He is unafraid to lie, cheat, steal, or sneak his way behind closed doors in pursuit of his next hot lead, although he has never betrayed his editor or a source. Though he's known to mix business with pleasure, Stephen Spires' first love has always been his next story.

Personal History Stephen Spires was born in the Louisiana Bayou where the last vestiges of poverty could be found on Earth. His family never truly lacked for anything, yet their glorious absence of sophistication bred Stephen Spires into a mild-mannered hooligan. It wasn't until schooling age that Stephen Spires realized there was a greater world beyond his stomping grounds.

Despite his lack of gentry, Stephen Spires was a quick study, though his high energy made for a poor student. He realized that many people had secrets and histories of their own which they hid behind their masks, and it birthed in him a love for the unknown, specifically, that which others wished to keep unknown.

Had he applied for the Academy, they would've likely passed him over due to his spotty record. But for Stephen Spires, a stiff uniform would have been a prison. Journalism, on the other hand, welcomed his penchant for mischief with open arms, where he quickly made a name for himself with a number of hard-hitting exposés in several sectors. Though young and rough around the edges, Stephen Spires has made quite a name for himself as an investigative journalist.
